Ranked Battles

Implemented a new game mode: Ranked Battles

In version 0.4.1, Ranked Battle scenarios are implemented on the following maps:

New Dawn
North
Fault Line

Ships

General changes:

  • For the Japanese ships, bonus to a chance of setting enemy ships on fire is at maximum for 200 mm and 203 mm caliber guns with the other calibers having a lower bonuses
  • For all destroyers, resistance to damage was decreased to match the respective hull values
  • For all destroyers, added a fourth point where the fire may potentially be started
  • For all ships, increased gunfire accuracy at close quarters (i.e. at distances of 0.2 km to 4 km), which resulted in a minor increase in the accuracy of fire at medium- and long-range distances
  • The ‘value’ of a hit into the middle part of a destroyer was reduced to match the ‘value’ of hits into the bow or stern of these ships. Now, ‘alpha strike’ damage to the bow, stern, superstructures and the central part of the ship will not differ
  • For all ships, changed the display of the rudder shift time. The time itself remains the same (!!!), the change affects its display only

Consumables:

  • Extended the action time of the Hydroacoustic Search consumable from 40 to 90 seconds
  • For U.S. Navy destroyers, extended the action time of Smoke Charges. The previous time for setting a smokescreen (20 seconds) was increased to 22 – 30 seconds depending on the tier of a destroyer
  • The duration of a smokescreen was increased as well: it used to be within the range of 65 to 97 seconds depending on the tier of a ship. Now it will be within the range of 106 to 130 seconds
  • Engine boost ability activation no longer affects the visibility of the ship

 

US Navy specific changes:

  • Beginning from Tier VI, we introduced the Defensive Fire consumable
  • For the destroyers Farragut and Benson, the ‘AA defense-oriented’ hulls will become optional for research
  • The top (AA-defense-oriented) hulls of US Navy destroyers will receive the Defensive Fire consumable.
  • For the cruiser Cleveland, fixed the incorrect armoring of 6″/47 (152 mm/47) turrets: the armor of the bottom side of a turret was increased from 37 mm to 38 mm, and the armor of its rear side was decreased from 37 mm to 25 mm.
  • For the cruiser Baltimore, fixed the incorrect armoring of 8″/55 (203 mm/55) turrets: the armor of the bottom side of a turret was increased from 19 mm to 38 mm, and the armor of its rear side was increased from 37 mm to 38 mm.
  • For the battleship Wyoming, fixed the incorrect armoring of the 12″/50 (305 mm/50) turrets when mounted on the stock hull: the armor of the bottom part of a turret was decreased from 60 mm to 38 mm, and the armor of its upper part was decreased from 160 mm to 76 mm.
  • The 152 mm AP/SC Mk27 mod. 2 shell was replaced with the 152 mm AP/SC Mk27 mod. 5 shell. The changes affected the cruisers Omaha, Marblehead and Phoenix
  • Fixed the bug that prevented damage to the 12″/45 Mk5 (305 mm/45 Mk5) gun turrets. The change affected the battleship South Carolina
  • Decreased the traverse speed of the 12″/50 Mk7 guns to 3.5 degrees per second. The change affects the battleship Wyoming
  • Fixed the bug related to the high detectability of the Bliss-Leavitt Mk7 mod2A torpedoes: the detectability was reduced from 1.6 km to 1 km
  • For the battleship Wyoming, changed the stock hull modification; the firing range with the stock hull was reduced from 12.790 m to 10.965 m; the viewing distance with the stock hull was reduced from 20.33 km to 17.71 km
  • For the cruiser Omaha, fixed the bug related to the firing range with the top hull. The firing range was increased from 11.500 m to 13.465 m. The viewing distance with the top hull was increased from 18.39 km to 21.08 km
  • For the cruiser New Orleans, fixed the bug related to the power of the AA defenses: the power of the stock hull AA defenses (40 mm Bofors guns) at a medium AA engagement distance underwent a twofold reduction.
  • For the destroyer Sampson, increased the traverse speed of the main battery guns from 10 to 11.5 degrees per second.
  • For the destroyer Wickes, increased the traverse speed of the main battery guns from 10 to 11.5 degrees per second.
  • For the destroyer Wickes, converted the Bliss-Leavitt Mark 9 torpedoes into a researchable module.
  • For the destroyer Nicholas, added the Defensive Fire consumable to Hull B instead of the Engine Boost consumable.
  • For the destroyer Farragut, Hull C became optional for research. On this hull, the Engine Boost consumable was replaced with the Defensive Fire consumable.
  • For the destroyer Mahan, added the Defensive Fire consumable to Hull B instead of the Engine Boost consumable.
  • For the destroyer Benson, Hull C became optional for research. On this hull, the Engine Boost consumable was replaced with the Defensive Fire consumable.
  • For the destroyer Gearing, the Defensive Fire consumable became available in addition to the Engine Boost consumable.
  • For the destroyer Sims, separated the engagement areas of the Browning M2 and Oerlikon AA machine guns. The total engagement power has not changed: the firing range of the Oerlikon machine guns remains standard (2.1 km instead of 1.2 km earlier) while the firing range of the Browning M2 machine guns is reduced from 1.2 km to 0.9 km as compared with the previous range
  • For the destroyer Sims, added an option to mount torpedoes
  • For the destroyer Sims, the Defensive Fire consumable became available in addition to the Engine Boost consumable.
  • Reduced the traverse speed of the main turrets on the battleship Wyoming
  • For the destroyer Sims, added alternative torpedoes
  • Added a new type of shell (152MM AP/SC MK27 MOD5) for the 152mm/53 guns: the change of the shell affected the cruisers Omaha and Phoenix
  • Increased the firing range for the top hull (C) of the cruiser Omaha (the same increase is applied to Murmansk)
  • Increased the rate of fire and the main battery traverse speed of the US Navy destroyers Sampson and Wickes

Japan specific changes:

  • For ships without obvious superstructures, increased by 10% the distance of surface detection (the change affected the aircraft carriers Hosho, Zuiho and Ryujo)
  • Modified the flight control modules; now each research path offers at least one group of fighters
  • Increased aircraft servicing time and takeoff/landing time for aircraft carries
  • Increased the traverse speed of the 120mm/45 guns from 4 degrees per second to 6 degrees per second. The change affected the destroyers Wakatake, Minekaze and Mutsuki
  • Increased the traverse speed of the 127mm/50 Type C guns from 5 degrees per second to 6 degrees per second. The change affected the destroyers Fubuki and Kagero
  • Increased the traverse speed of the 200mm/50 guns from 4 degrees per second to 5 degrees per second. The change affected the cruiser Furutaka
  • Increased the traverse speed of the 203mm/50 guns from 4 degrees per second to 5 degrees per second. The reload time of the gun was decreased from 17 to 15 seconds. The change affected the cruiser Furutaka
  • Decreased the traverse speed of the 155mm/50 guns from 4.5 degrees per second to 3.5 degrees per second. The number of the gun’s ‘hit points’ was reduced by 20%. The changes affected the cruiser Mogami
  • Increased the range of the 450 Type42 mod. 1 torpedoes from 4.5 km to 5 km. The changes affected the destroyers Tachibana and Umikaze
  • Increased the arming time for the Type91 mod. 1A torpedoes from 2.5 seconds to 3 seconds. The change affected all Japanese aircraft carriers.
  • The aircraft carrier Hosho: due to the re-adjustment of the visibility system (for easier identification of ships in absence of an explicitly visible island or a superstructure), increased the detection and identification distance as seen from the water surface (surface detectability range) from 7.92 km to 8.82 km.
  • The aircraft carrier Zuiho: due to the re-adjustment of the visibility system (for easier identification of ships in absence of an explicitly visible island or a superstructure), increased the detection and identification distance as seen from the water surface (surface detectability range) from 8.46 km to 9.18 km.
  • The aircraft carrier Zuiho: changed the composition of the Type 5 mod. 1 flight control to contain 1 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons instead of 2 torpedo bomber, 1 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Zuiho: changed the composition of the Type 5 mod. 2 flight control to contain 2 torpedo bomber, 1 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons instead of 3 torpedo bomber, 1 bomber and 0 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Ryujo: due to the re-adjustment of the visibility system (for easier identification of ships in absence of an explicitly visible island or a superstructure), increased the detection and identification distance as seen from the water surface from 9.0 km to 9.9 km.
  • The aircraft carrier Ryujo: changed the composition of the Type 6 mod. 1 flight control to contain 1 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons instead of 2 torpedo bomber, 1 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Ryujo: changed the composition of the Type 6 mod. 2 flight control to contain 2 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons instead of 3 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 0 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Ryujo: changed the composition of the Type 6 mod. 3 flight control to contain 1 torpedo bomber, 1 bomber and 3 fighter squadrons instead of 2 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Hiryu: changed the composition of the Type 7 mod. 2 flight control to contain 2 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 2 fighter squadrons instead of 3 torpedo bomber, 3 bomber and 0 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Hiryu: changed the composition of the Type 7 mod. 3 flight control to contain 1 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 3 fighter squadrons instead of 2 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 2 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Shokaku: changed the composition of the Type 8 mod. 2 flight control to contain 2 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 2 fighter squadrons instead of 3 torpedo bomber, 3 bomber and 0 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Shokaku: changed the composition of the Type 8 mod. 3 flight control to contain 1 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 3 fighter squadrons instead of 2 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Taiho: changed the composition of the Type 9 mod. 2 flight control to contain 3 torpedo bomber, 2 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons instead of 3 torpedo bomber, 3 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons
  • The aircraft carrier Hakuryu: changed the composition of the Type 10 mod. 2 flight control to contain 3 torpedo bomber, 3 bomber and 2 fighter squadrons instead of 3 torpedo bomber, 4 bomber and 1 fighter squadrons
  • For the battleships Kongo, Fuso, Nagato and Amagi, added an intermediate hull (B) as a researchable module.
  • For the battleship Yamato, reduced the chance of fire on the ship by 3.3%
  • For the cruiser Atago, corrected a misprint in the text of the torpedo description (Type90 mod. 1 instead of Type93 mod. 1). The characteristics of the torpedoes remain unchanged.
  • For the cruiser Yubari, the Defensive Fire consumable is now effective for the medium-range engagement distance (heavy AA machine guns) as well
  • For the cruiser Hashidate, decreased the number of hit points for the stock hull from 10,700 to 8,800 and for the top hull from 12,400 to 10,300
  • For the cruiser Furutaka, reduced the rudder shift time for the top hull by 1.1 seconds.
  • For the cruiser Furutaka, changed the research system. Implemented a straightforward gun research procedure whereby guns will be researched successively. Added Type8 mod. 2 torpedoes as a researchable module
  • For the destroyers Minekaze and Mutsuki, increased detectability distance from 5.94 km to 6.2 km
  • For the destroyer Minekaze, excluded the Type89 torpedoes from researchable modules.
  • Reduced the national bonus related to the probability of setting fire for all shells (except 200 mm and 203 mm caliber shells)
  • For the cruiser Kitakami, added the Engine Boost consumable
  • For the cruiser Kitakami: increased the effective aiming angles for torpedo tubes For the cruiser Mogami, reduced the aiming speed of the main turrets, and reduced the hit points of these turrets by 20%
  • For the battleships Kongo, Fuso, Nagato and Amagi, added intermediate hulls as researchable modules
  • For the cruiser Myoko, decreased the reload time of the main battery guns by 2 seconds.
  • For the battleship Yamato, reduced the chance of fire on the ship by 3.3%
  • For the cruiser Myoko, increased the probability of a fire on the ship by 6.6%
  • For the cruiser Mogami, decreased the probability of a fire on the ship by 6.6%
  • For the Japanese destroyers Minekaze and Mutsuki, the detection distance was increased by 0,3km
  • Excluded the 533 mm Type 89 torpedo from researchable modules.
  • Decreased the aiming angles of Minekaze’s torpedo tubes.
  • Increased the turret traverse speed of certain Japanese destroyers
  • Increased the rate of fire and the main battery traverse speed of the Japanese cruiser Furutaka
  • Reduced rudder shift time for the cruiser Furutaka
  • Added the Engine Boost consumable to the cruiser Kitakami
  • Increased the aiming angles of Kitakami’s torpedo tubes

USSR\Russia specific changes:

  • The designation of shell of the cruiser Murmansk 152-mm AP/SC Mk27 mod.2 was renamed to 152-mm AP/SC Mk27 mod.8. Characteristics remained the same.

 

Aviation

  • Added an alternative attack mode for fighter squadrons: Air Squadron Assault, activated by pressing Alt + LMB
  • An air squadron carries out an assault upon a particular area on the map, designated by the player. Going at a high speed, fighters fly straight through the designated area, delivering concentrated fire at specified targets. All air squadrons (including allied ones) that happen to be within the impact area will take damage
  • Added aircraft fire visualization in the form of gun tracers.
  • Fixed the incorrect display of a torpedo cone during a torpedo attack in automatic mode.
  • Fighter squadrons cannot now be ordered to perform several consecutive attacks at once (by pressing and holding Shift)
  • Changed the turning radius for all aircraft. The average values remain close to those in the previous version
  • Increased ammunition capacity for all fighters
  • Introduced a twofold increase (on average) in the self-defense power of all attack aircraft
  • Normalized the self-defense power of all fighters in order to avoid significant variations across levels

 

Reporting

  • Implemented an automatic system for handling reports regarding chat misbehavior, capable of issuing chat bans to players.

 

Matchmaker

  • Implemented a “mirror balance” for aircraft carriers in terms of their number and tier in almost all cases (except for extremely rare occasions when the waiting time in queue is longer than the maximum time allowed).
  • Implemented interruption of a series of battles that a player takes part in where the player’s ship tier is lower that the level of the battle
  • The matchmaker now distributes destroyers more evenly between opposite teams, when a battle is created.

 

Game Maps

Added two new maps:

  • Strait

The map features an Italian coast where, in 1940, for the first time ever heavy ships were attacked solely by carrier-based aviation. This operation “inspired” Japan’s massive assault on Pearl Harbor. In 1943, the Allied fleet supported Operation “Husky”, Operation “Avalanche” and many other operations of great importance for wartime achievements in Europe.

- Size: 36×36 km

- Modes: Standard Battle, Domination (3 key areas)

  • Solomon Islands

One of the major Pacific Ocean campaigns carried out during World War II that took place in the vicinity of the Solomon Islands archipelago.  Battles continued from 1942 until 1945. During 1942-1943, the largest sea battle – the Guadalcanal Campaign – took place in the waters of the archipelago. A strategically important airport Henderson Field is located on the island. After the battle, the U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “It would seem that the turning point in this war has at last been reached.”

- Size: 30×30 km

- Modes: Standard Battle, Domination (3 key areas)

  • Added foliage to the following maps: NorthBig RaceIslandsHotspotNew DawnTwo Brothers and Fault Line
  • Fixed gameplay components of the following maps: New Dawn and Fault Line
  • Disabled the initial diagonal placement of teams and the Domination mode (with 5 key areas) on the Hotspot map

Graphics

  • Implemented a new technology of foliage visualization on maps

Sound

  • Made an overall improvement of sound effects in the game
  • Reworked the sounds of nearby flying shells
  • Improved the sound effects of jet-powered aircraft
  • Work is under way to improve performance
  • Added new music tracks

Interface

  • Ship’s characteristics are now taking into account the equipment mounted on the ship
  • Improved visualization of three-dimensional game interfaces
  • Implemented the display of licensers in the game client
  • Added an IME language panel (can be enabled in the Settings)
  • Added input support for the Chinese, Korean and Japanese languages.
  • Improved the Summary tab in the player’s profile
  • Implemented the option to display battle statistics separately for Co-op, Standard and Ranked Battles
  • AA characteristics scale of display has been changed. AA capacity has not changed, but in the integral characteristics view mode in the port the value has been lowered – this is necessary for correct display of increase in characteristics when ships modules and commander’s skill are applied

System Changes

  • Added a change that will substantially simplify aiming at a ship moving over the border of the map (“kiting”)
  • The daily number of reports/complaints available to a player was increased to five
  • The number of reports/complaints that a player would need to accumulate to get banned from chat was increased to 10

      So no balancing of Izumo vs Iowa??….
      Iowa has better armor, range and AA what do the izumo have?
      In EU Izumo has 45% winrate vs Iowa 53%

    • What are you on about – the Izumo allready has the same citadel armour as the Cleveland. The Izumo is OP! Yes I am trolling and surprised, the Izumos stats seems off. If the armour remains the same maybe it should get a bit of the “german” treatment (manouverability and turret rotation speed) then it can become the “angle monster” it’s supposed to be. Very glad to se the Furutaka buffed though.

    • After the last patch and after the last maintance was done by wargaming on world of tanks, the game became extremely laggy, with low performance in combats (like in 10 fps). I play world of tanks on PS4. My net connection is ok. The problem was never seen before. Literally the game is unplayable now.

    • On the other hand the repair does 330 hp / s instead of 251, that’s a boost with over 30% compared to others. On top that you can add the 20% repair boost flag so you can do a bit over 11k repair per time. If you have Superintendent you can use repair 4 times, at a maximal of 44k+ armor of your 50.100.

    • The Colorado is there to make WG money people pay to pass it. it sucks

    • Exactly what i was wondering. It seems to me that this is a case of bad translation, from russian probably.

    • We checked it, it was an issue with not throwing out a bit of patch notes during all the changes – fixed now.

    This means its getting a buff not a nerf as was first stated. Or is it just a bad translation?

    • Japanese destroyers can finally turn their turrets faster =) Was a bit hard to fight other dd´s with the main battery while maneuvering, because the ship turned faster than the turrets, means u had to drive straight forward for the moment u were shooting..

  4. For the IJN CV Hiryu, with the changes to the flight mods, will a refund of XP and credits be given, since I chose the balanced 2/2/2 mod, and this will become the fighter heavy mod, which I do not want.

    Am I forced to spend more credits and XP to get the other mod, which will become the 2/2/2 balanced mod?

    • Most likely not, provided you’ve researched everything fully, you’ll be supplemented with the replacement mod in much the same way you would if a ship where to be replaced.
      Or at least that’s what I think will happen.

    I do hope that she eventually earns her place in the line.

    • Me too… In my opinion Furutaka is a bit underpowered, but Aoba does worth the grind X)

  8. I think the majority of the ppl here missed a big point.. Cruiser Kitakami? It was removed from the game.. lol

      tier7 japanese destroyer with tier1 hp MUST be the next joke to!
      destroyers now much faster to see & kill with lower hp pool and much lower modulstability.

    Does that mean the armor is less effective, or does that mean we get even more module dmg?
    Not that a DD gets destroyed easy enough already. I eman you admit that DD are not strong enough and you still nerf them in some way? Where is the logic in that?

  12. Lol i play IJN DDs and CVs and they both get nerfed to the ground? No pure momber setup for CVs? are you kidding me? USN fighters already blow every IJN fighter off the sky and now you force us to have useless fighter squads? srsly? additionally the Bombers gt nerfed while USN dont get a single nerf to their fighters?…i shouldve started USN lines instead of IJN…i wont even bother starting german ones if the ships are this affected by historical hatred…

    • Having a setup without fighters was a bad design idea from the start. You were baically betting, that the enemy carrier had no fighter, didn’t care or wasn’t even there. Or of course there was another carrier in your team to do this job. But the bombers are still rediculously bad and not worth the time, they should be buffed, to be more on par with the torpedo bombers. I have the Bogue and the only reasonable set up has thwo fighter and one bomber squadron, that can be very boring.

    - HE shells: Still OP
    - DDs: even more worthless with this patch. It was the least performing class anyway…..why nerf it further?
    - No fix to the bugged Tirpitz, that is literally not citadellable at all
    - No reduction of plane hitpoints? WTF! The high tier planes are literally invincible due to the speed. They just remain not long enough in AA fire to get harmed at all. Other possibility would be to increase AA range in higher tiers.
    and some more issues……but im too demotivated to write all points down….

    • -he not really op if you citadel pen with ap shells.
      -and citadel penning on the tirpitz is difficult but not nearly impossible, 16-20km easy to citadel pen with an other tirpitz, 12-16km no cit pens, under 10km easy citadel pens. watch the wows new about penning + range.
      - planes are indeed fast but not unkillable, but sometimes they do seem indestructible. (not sure about T8-10 )

  14. nothing for the Atlanta the guns while they be fast firing and fast turning they are hopeless out ranged even by lower tier crusiers how a bout a slight increase in range to at least 12 or 13k same sims guns

    • Atlanta gets about 13 km range with the 4 rank commander skill, they dont balance it to basic level, and an Atlanta wreaks havoc on t7 and 8 cruisers, not on american t6 though thats the op Cleve.

  15. This is all sweet, but what about bugfixes ? All the balancing is for nothing if i can only play half of the battle and then the game desynchronizes and im trying to shoot the ghosts …

  16. And what about invert mouse??? Is it so difficult to do implement this for us??? How much longer should we wait. I am starting to loose my patience…

    • just out of curiosity: why would you want / need inverted mouse option in WoWs?

    • Because I am used to it? For 20 years? Try to write with your other hand now… Well, my BF has real problem because he uses this way his tools in his work, so it is even bigger problem for him. He managed to play with no invert mouse WoWs even. But it screwed his movements in other games and his work. He had to lelearn playing WoT for 3 days straight. He stopped then playing WoWs. Read also a lot o forum posts about it. We are not alone here…

  17. Basically WG nerfed the IJN without any reason. Meawhile US buffed or untouched. Too hate since Battle of Tsushima maybe

  19. I don’t like the group attack patch 4 fighters. Against monster AA ships u only have the chance to attack with all squads. If an american fighter squad can attack all my japanese squads with one strike I am done. All other announcements I like!!!

  24. all game buffs and nerfs is a apart of the free gaming world society the reason why they do it is so that players play different ships for different tactics or we would all just aim for one OP ship just be glad its a free to play and hope id don’t turn into a pay to win game.

    I have an idea that might make it a little more technical but fun to play.

    how about instead of just a captain for you ship why not have engineers, gunners and pilots.

    Engineers: reduce repair cooldown and speed up repairs ( depending on their experience )

    Gunners: reduce shell reload times , increase range and accuracy, and speed up turret rotation speed (dependant on experience.)
    For lower level ships from tier VI you could have it where you can employ 1 gunner for ships like DD and CC and for BB you employ 2 or 3 gunners
    Ships will still be able to operate without gunners but adding them may just give you an edge in battle,
    Gunners gain XP the same way as the captain and points are added to certain aspects like accuracy, reload, shell swapping, range and rotation speed

    Pilots: increase fighter durability and expertise in dog fighting and attacking other none fighter aircraft.
    Increase accuracy of bombers and torpedo hits.
    increase range of spotter Aircraft
    you could have it from your 1st low level CV you could employ 3 pilots as fighter pilots or torpedo pilots
    as you get to a higher tier CV this increases to a total of 9 pilots so you could have either 6 fighters 3 torp pilots or 3 bomber, 3 fighter and 3 torp or all 9 can be put into one category or so it won’t make an OP category you could make it each category can only have a total of 3 specialised pilots.
    same as the gunners and captain the pilots gain XP and points added to things like durability, accuracy and vision

    i’m just throwing that idea out there

  25. I like the graphical change to the islands it makes them look a little more realistic.

    I think the damage on ships visual where it glows orange and cycles from back to front looks a little unrealistic.
    why not have it glowing at random times instead going from dim to bright. or the faster you move the brighter it gets

It is supposed that,the counterpart of the SHITTY IJN FIGHTERS, is the ability to take more torps squadron than USN CV’s, so that you have to play more agressive, knowing you cannot defend yourself. Now, we are given YES OR YES, a shitty fighter with wich we have to spend our time, effort and money and experience. I can not understand today why the fuck USN squads are 6 and IJN are 4. Why not 5/4 or 6/5 or the fckking same number. It is shitty. It is totally shit. My Zuiho is now useless :( we want the capability of defend ourselves

      IJN carriers were already powerless if the opposing team had USN carriers, now the situation got even worse. I will try it out but I’m afraid I’ll have to sell my IJN carriers and switch to USN which are at least enjoyable, if not rewarding because killing planes doesn’t reward you enough.
      And I’m curious about the fighter skill. Isn’t it kind of silly that the concentrated fire damages allies as well? Isn’t it counterproductive in terms of teamwork between carriers? You can’t help friendly fighters with the skill.

    • for me every time i get accidently to desktop( with win or alt+tab. its enoying enough to get out while the fight, but after i return i got a pin from 1000-1500 and gotta restart. last year i didnt had the problem….

  29. There is a mistake in the text of the notes for the new map Straits. It states:
    “The map features an Italian coast where, in 1940, for the first time ever heavy ships were attacked solely by carrier-based aviation.”
    This is not true.

    The German cruiser Köningsberg was attacked and sunk by Skua carrier craft the 10th of April, 1940. Though she had been attacked by bombers earlier, they hadn’t hit her. As such the carrier attack was a seperate attack that sunk her independently of other attacks. She was the first major warship sunk by air attack.

    Skua’s also attacked the Scharnhorst 13th of June, 1940, near Trondheim, though this attack was a disaster. It is still a naval aviation operation, and this time only naval aircraft were in use.

    Both of these attacks happened before the battle of Taranto which took place the 11th of November 1940. The attack on Taranto was larger in scale however.

    • I have a very slow connection with my 50k connection too, when I have torrent activated in the launcher options (right upper corner). But turning it off brought the speed back to normal.

  35. I can’t play this until the mouse Y axis can be reversed. Going back to tanks is confusing and VERY irritating when the gun goes up instead of down. COME ON WG – it isn’t such a big thing to implement!

    • But the Kongo has a range of 20 Km and not just 14.5! It is also almost 10 knots faster!

  39. Hi,enyone…i instaled Target acquisition system wich gives +20% to acquisiton rng, on Mogami…buth rng is still same ..15,1km..no change???WTF???

    • I think it does not change the range of your weapons, but just the range to “lock” the target, so you get an indicator for your torpedoes, for example. I had the same with my Arkansas Beta. I thought it would add 20% range to the guns, but it didn’t.

    • In the future it would be wise to get a clear idea of, what you’re upgrading your ship with. That target acquisition has nothing to do with the range of your guns, just as the one before me said in his reply to you

  40. Good camo was the most important in Minekaze’s stealth gameplay. Why T H did you have to nerf its camo? Like WoT… Nerf camo.. Nerf TDs… Nerf fun…

  41. And still no option to invert Y-Axis on mouse. So many people want this in this game. I have played this game once and waiting on the hot fix for this. So many other people want it as well. You say why you want invert Y? for people who don’t have it they will never know the struggle it is for us people. Its like moving your mouse left and you turn right. Would take a lot to adjust to this method and get used to.

  42. I’m really sad to see the Minekaze being basically scrapped. I can agree that a nerf was in order, but to remove our torps as well as adding to visibility is too much. She hasn’t got the guns of an American DD to make that work, torps are basically it. Now the window to use them is only 800 metres which is not even close to practical.

    Sad to say, I just sold my own. It really is too bad, she had been a favourite of mine since the early days of the closed beta.

  44. I wonder if they are jsut that incompetent by now, the CV mirror MM solved onyl a tiny bit of the Problem. A lower tiered carrier or even one without upgrade planes is still 99% useless, the enemy fighter will kill two squads of your fighter without any losses.

  47. Guys, are we going to see the correct modeling for the Wyoming & Furutaka? Wyoming had a latice/cage mast and sail/stick mast on it 1920 refit….The Furutaka in the mid 1930 had three twin 8″ gun turrets installed..(hull ‘C’).

  51. this has nothing to do with what you are talking about right now but i want to let you know that i think that right now it just takes way to long to reasearch the ships. i REALLY want to get up in the high tier stuff but it just takes way to long for me. so i just want to ask that if it is possible to earn a bit more xp per battle. it would make the game a lot more fun. atleast for me.

  56. When i start battle i get disconnect, and when i finaly go in to the battle i have bad lag, FPS good but ping from 30 to 1000, but tanks works fine. play on EU both.

    Carriers shouldnt be able to start any aircraft while being stopped and dead in water.
    I dont want them to turn into the wind. but just lying dead in the water behind an island is way to unrealisitc and doesnt support the gameplay at all.

    An the matchmaker is ridiculous. Every time I play in a Division I have to fight against higher tiers. The division starts with 3 level 5 ships and the opposite team consists of level 8 ships. There is no chance to win such rounds!

  65. I don”t know why wargaming is so greedy,starting from tier VIII BBs im constantly loosing money for example with North Carolina for meh game i get 70-130k credits and if i die repair is 130+K this is just stupid.
    With BBs i always lose money,srsly WG i need to give you money for premium account just to get past tier VIII this is same problem as it is with World of Tanks that is why i quit playing WoT cause i need to play with premium tanks or with premium account to be able to continue past VIII OMFG……
    I know that my vote will not change anything but shame on you.
    I rly like this game but i will quit because shitty economy mechanics…….

    I think they should rebalance the way fires starts, when cruisers and fast shooters constantly bombards u with he dmg, and u start to burn at the 1st salvo, then on the 2nd and so forth. HE shells are to OP still. Need to either make it hard to start to burn with more dmg or lower the dmg very much.

  67. HMS warsprit should have a longer fire range. 16.3km is too short for tire VI. at least 18km. Warsprit has a 29km maximum fire range at 1941. so she should have a longer range of fire.
    the damage of AP shells need to be proved. especially at long range. the deck armor of BB is not very thick. some only have 100mm or less armor. when AP shell travel a long distance, the collision angle should be bigger enough to penetrate the deck armor. so the damage should be bigger than attack broadside armor.
    DDs and CLs are quite strange. can you find any DD or CL can receive more than 5 hits of 305mm gun or a 406mm gun. BUT WOWS have, and some times I need more than 10hits of 381mmm shells. However, HMS Hood was sank by one hits of 380mm shell. so pleas tell me how DDs and CLs can hold a 305mm 700kg ap shell?
    fire is not because the explosion of HE, some times AP can also cause a fire. normally AP shell have a 1.5% to 5.5% shell weight of dynamite inside. it can and it will explosion after penetrating armor, after AP shell explosion, somethings like propellant was lighted so the ship was lighted. if it explosion on the deck armor, it will be more harder to light some things.however, HE shell is ideal for the light armor targets like DD and CL. it is not only because some shells can be found on the deck, but the light armor is not enough to provide protection to people on the deck or the inside of the ship. some of ships is ideal for HE hits because they even don’t have any armor for gunners. but the gun can still work after receive several hits of HE in the game, so how did it worked?

The standard hulls of the Benson need an AA buff to stop plane hanging, the AA on the A and B hulls is worthless and players with upgraded planes just hover over you and you do not even kill a single plane it is that, then you try the C hull and it is worthless, hardly an improvement on AA in fact by sellecting the C hull there is little difference in performance, so you spend the XP and Credits for no reason and if you select Hull C it is effectively a 20% instant nerf on the ship, not a thought out process….. I am not suggesting making the Benson invincible against planes i am saying please buff it so that the AA on A and B hull is a reasonable deterent for plane hanging which is happening in Ranked games every match with CVs and it is worse against IJN CVs

  76. I advise you to take on the game idea “Battlestation: Midway” I find it very close of “World of warships.” I think this game is very well done on the command of ship. he also an underwater aspect who is very friendly.
